What are events in Monotree?

Included in every Monotree plan, with no add-ons

Events in Monotree are invitations that live in the employee app. HQ or a manager creates an event with a time, a place and a description, and chooses which departments or groups it is for.

Invited employees answer in one tap, and the organiser sees who is attending and who is not. An event can have a maximum number of attendees and a deadline for signing up.

Every event appears in the calendar in the app, and employees can sync that calendar with the one on their phone, so the staff party sits next to their private appointments.

Every Monotree feature runs on the same groups, translations, notifications and security, so you set things up once and it works everywhere.

Questions about events

  1. Can an event include a programme, photos or documents?

    Yes. An event can hold text, headers, image and video galleries and attached documents, so the programme and the practical details are part of the invitation.

  2. Can we limit how many employees can sign up for an event?

    Yes. An event can have a maximum number of attendees and a deadline for signing up, which is useful for trainings with limited seats and for ordering food.

  3. Can we invite only some employees?

    Yes. An event is targeted at the departments, job titles or custom groups you choose, and only those employees see it. Leave the groups empty to invite the whole company.

  4. Do events show up in the calendar on the phone?

    Yes. Events are shown in the calendar in the app, and each employee can sync that calendar with the calendar on their phone.

  5. What about employees who have not seen the invitation?

    They get a reminder at the time you choose, and the organiser can write a comment that mentions everyone who has not opened the event yet, which sends them a push notification.

  6. What is the difference between an event and a calendar entry?

    An event is an invitation that employees answer. A calendar entry is information for the calendar only, such as a campaign period or an opening date, with no sign-up.

  7. Do we pay extra for events?

    No. Monotree has one price per user, and it covers every feature including events, along with AI, integrations, personal onboarding and live chat support. There are no modules or add-ons.

  8. Can employees use events on both iPhone and Android?

    Yes. Your employees use Monotree as your own branded app on iPhone and Android, and administrators manage content and settings in a web-based CMS.
