What are achievements in Monotree?

Included in every Monotree plan, with no add-ons

Achievements are badges your employees earn or are given in the Monotree app. Each one has an emoji, a title and a short text, and it stays on the employee's profile under My achievements.

There are four types. Employee of the month is given by hand for a month in a department. A completion badge is awarded automatically when someone finishes a course, a handbook or their onboarding. A work anniversary is awarded automatically after the number of months you choose. Custom achievements are given by hand, for anything you want to recognise.

You decide who sees each achievement. A public one is shown to colleagues in the same department, who can react and comment. A personal one is only seen by the employee and their managers. New awards can also be sent to your own systems through the Open API and webhooks.

  1. Create the achievement

    Pick a type, an emoji and a title, and choose whether it is public or personal. For the automatic types, choose the content or the number of months.

  2. Award it

    Completion badges and work anniversaries are awarded automatically. Employee of the month and custom achievements are given in the CMS, with a date and a department.

  3. Celebrate it in the app

    The employee gets a push notification, and a public award shows up in the activity feed of their colleagues, ready for reactions and comments.

The platform behind achievements

Every Monotree feature runs on the same groups, translations, notifications and security, so you set things up once and it works everywhere.

Questions about achievements

  1. Who can give achievements?

    Administrators create achievements and can give them to anyone. Managers and editors with access to the CMS can give them to the people in the departments they are responsible for.

  2. How is the employee of the month chosen?

    By a person, not by the system. An administrator or a manager picks the employee, the month and the department in the CMS. The award then reads, for example, Employee of the month, August, Downtown.

  3. Who can see an achievement?

    A public achievement is shown to the colleagues in the employee's department, on the employee's profile and in the activity feed. A personal achievement is only seen by the employee, their managers and administrators.

  4. What about people who already finished the course before we made the badge?

    You can award the badge to everyone who already meets the requirement in one go. It is added to their profile without sending a notification to each of them.

  5. Can achievements be in more than one language?

    Yes. The title and text of an achievement can be translated into every language your company uses, and employees see it in their own language.

  6. Can we connect achievements to a rewards or HR system?

    Yes. Your own systems can create achievements and give awards through the Open API, and a webhook tells them every time an award is given. Monotree does not handle points or prizes itself, so any reward is given in the system you connect.

  7. How do we turn achievements on?

    Achievements are switched on per company. Ask your Monotree contact, and they will appear in the CMS for your administrators and on every employee's profile in the app.

  8. Do we pay extra for achievements?

    No. Monotree has one price per user, and it covers every feature including achievements, along with AI, integrations, personal onboarding and live chat support. There are no modules or add-ons.

  9. Can employees use achievements on both iPhone and Android?

    Yes. Your employees use Monotree as your own branded app on iPhone and Android, and administrators manage content and settings in a web-based CMS.
