A supervisor on the late shift keeps shouting at new staff. I have seen it three times this month.

What is the whistleblower channel in Monotree?

Included in every Monotree plan, with no add-ons

The whistleblower channel is a form in the Monotree app for reporting serious concerns, such as harassment, fraud, theft or safety breaches. Every report is anonymous. The reporter's name is never shown, and a report can never be changed to named afterwards.

Employees find the channel at the bottom of the forms screen in the app they already use every day. They describe what happened, add photos, videos or files and send it. They follow their report in the app and answer questions from the case handler, still without their name.

Reports reach only the people you choose as case handlers. Administrators set up the channel but cannot read the reports unless they are handlers themselves, and reports do not go to the reporter's manager. Answers, comments and attachments are stored encrypted, and reports are never available to AI, the MCP server or the Open API. Read more on the security page.

A safe place to speak up

A separate place for serious concerns, apart from everyday forms.

From report to resolution, anonymously

Set it up once, and employees always have a safe place to speak up.

  1. Set up the channel

An administrator creates a whistleblower form in the CMS, writes the questions, decides who can use it and chooses the case handlers.

  2. An employee reports

The employee opens the channel from the forms screen, fills it in and sends it. The case handlers get a notification about the new report.

  3. Follow up and close

Handlers ask questions in the conversation, keep internal notes and mark the report as done. The reporter follows it all in the app.

Monotree stood out to us as a hospitality-led platform, which was easy to use, that people could engage with, that they could have full control about what they speak about and who to.

Questions about the whistleblower channel

  1. Who can read the reports?

Only the case handlers you choose, as named users or as a group. Administrators set up the channel and choose the handlers, but cannot read the reports unless they are handlers themselves. Reports are not sent to the reporter's manager.

  2. Can anyone see who sent a report?

No. The report is linked to the reporter's account so they can follow it and get replies, but their name is never shown in the app or the CMS, not to case handlers and not to administrators. In the conversation, the reporter appears as Anonymous.

  3. Can an employee choose to report with their name?

Every report in the whistleblower channel is anonymous. An employee who wants to be known can write their name in the report or the conversation. For reports where the sender should be named, use an ordinary form.

  4. How does the reporter follow up on their report?

The report appears under My responses on the forms screen in the app. When a case handler writes, the reporter gets a push notification, reads the reply and can answer, still anonymously.

  5. Can we have more than one whistleblower channel?

Yes. You can create several whistleblower forms, for example one per country, each with its own questions, its own case handlers and the departments or job titles that can use it.

  6. Can people outside the company report?

The channel lives in your Monotree app, so reports come from people who have access to the app. There is no public link for people outside the company.

  7. Can AI or our other systems read the reports?

No. Reports are never available to AI, the MCP server, the Open API or webhooks, and they are left out of the numbers on your ordinary forms.

  8. Does this cover what the whistleblower law asks of us?

Monotree gives your employees a secure internal channel in the app, with restricted access, anonymous reports and a way to follow up. What else you need depends on the rules in your country and on your own policy and process, such as who handles reports and how fast you reply. Ask your legal adviser what applies to your company.

  9. Do we pay extra for the whistleblower channel?

No. Monotree has one price per user, and it covers every feature including the whistleblower channel, along with AI, integrations, personal onboarding and live chat support. There are no modules or add-ons.

  10. Can employees use the whistleblower channel on both iPhone and Android?

Yes. Your employees use Monotree as your own branded app on iPhone and Android, and administrators manage content and settings in a web-based CMS.
