What are social walls in Monotree?

Social walls are the internal social network of the Monotree employee app. A wall is a feed where employees post text, photos, videos, files and polls, and where colleagues react, comment and mention each other. Official messages from the company go out as news.

Each wall belongs to the groups you choose. A department sees its own wall, a job title can have one across locations, and a wall without groups is open to the whole company. People only see the walls that concern them.

Walls are where culture becomes visible. The closing shift posts a photo of a full terrace, a new colleague gets a welcome, and a manager asks a question and has the answer before the next shift.

Walls are set up once by an administrator. After that the content comes from the people who work there.

    Create walls for your groups

    Choose which departments, job titles or custom groups a wall is for. New employees get the right walls from their first day.

    Employees post and react

    Anyone on the wall can share a post, comment, react and vote, from the phone they already carry. Posts can also be scheduled for later.

    The right people get a push

    Members are notified about new posts, mentions and replies, unless they have muted the wall or are on vacation mode.

Questions about social walls

  1. What is the difference between a social wall and news?

    A wall is a shared feed where everyone in the group can post and comment. News is published by the company or a manager, can be targeted, pinned and scheduled, and can require employees to confirm they have read it.

  2. Can every department have its own wall?

    Yes. A wall is shown to the groups you choose, such as a department, a job title or a custom group, and a wall without groups is open to everyone. Employees only see the walls they belong to.

  3. What can employees add to a post?

    Text, up to ten photos, videos or files, GIFs, links with a preview, and polls. Colleagues can react, comment, reply to comments and mention each other.

  4. Can we moderate what is posted?

    Yes. Moderators can remove posts and comments, and a user who breaks the rules can be blocked.

  5. Can other systems post on a wall?

    Yes. With incoming webhooks or the Open API, a system such as your booking or sales platform can post on a wall under its own bot name, so it is clear the post does not come from a colleague.

  6. Do we pay extra for social walls?

    No. Monotree has one price per user, and it covers every feature including social walls, along with AI, integrations, personal onboarding and live chat support. There are no modules or add-ons.

  7. Can employees use social walls on both iPhone and Android?

    Yes. Your employees use Monotree as your own branded app on iPhone and Android, and administrators manage content and settings in a web-based CMS.
