What is the CMS Assistant in Monotree?

Included in every Monotree plan, with no add-ons

The CMS Assistant is a chat panel in the Monotree CMS for the people who build and look after the content: administrators, editors and managers. You write what you need in your own words, and it drafts it in the right place, whether that is a handbook chapter, a course with a quiz, a to-do list or an announcement.

Everything it suggests appears as a card in the chat that you confirm or dismiss. New content is saved as a draft, a change to existing text is shown next to the current text, and nothing is published or deleted until you say so. It works with your own access in the CMS, so it only sees and changes what you could edit yourself.

If you would rather work with Monotree from Claude or ChatGPT, the MCP server connects those assistants to Monotree instead.

Ask for it, then review it

Ask for it in a sentence instead of building it field by field.

You edit, it types

You stay the editor. The assistant does the typing.

  1. Open the assistant

Click Assistant in the CMS. It knows which page you are on, so on a handbook it offers to fill gaps, and on a to-do list it offers to tidy up the tasks.

  2. Ask in your own words

Write what you need in any language, attach a document or paste a link. It reads what is already in Monotree before it suggests anything.

  3. Review and confirm

Each suggestion is a card you confirm or dismiss. New content arrives as a draft, and you publish it from the chat or the editor when it is ready.

What customers say

Read the story

We aim to keep weekly content to ensure everyone stays connected and informed, relying mainly on news, courses, private and group chats, and bulletin boards. It helps us tremendously with operations, especially in keeping the entire team updated on operational changes, promotions, and updates, while also facilitating internal communication between teams.

The platform behind the CMS Assistant

Every Monotree feature runs on the same groups, translations, notifications and security, so you set things up once and it works everywhere.

Questions about the CMS Assistant

  1. Who can use the CMS Assistant?

Administrators, editors and managers in the CMS. What it offers depends on the role: editors work with the content they can edit, managers with the departments they manage, and administrators with the whole company, including users and groups.

  2. Does it publish or delete anything on its own?

No. Everything it suggests is a card you confirm or dismiss, and new content is saved as a draft. When you approve a draft, it offers to publish it now or schedule it for later. Deleting also needs your confirmation. A few changes, such as new users and groups, take effect as soon as you confirm, and the assistant tells you so first.

  3. Can it see content I do not have access to?

No. It works with your own access in the CMS, so it sees and changes what you could edit yourself, and nothing more.

  4. What can I give it to work from?

A description in your own words, a PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint file, a Markdown or text file, photos, or a link to a web page. From a link it only reads that website, and it can bring the page's images into the draft.

  5. Can it help me find my way in the CMS?

Yes. It answers how-to questions from the Monotree help guide, takes you to the right page and points out the button you need.

  6. Which languages does it speak?

It answers in the language you write in, and it can translate text in a chapter for you.

  7. How is it different from the AI chatbot and the MCP server?

The AI chatbot answers employees' questions in the app. The CMS Assistant is for the people who build content, and lives in the CMS. The MCP server lets an assistant outside Monotree, such as Claude or ChatGPT, work with your Monotree.

  8. How do we turn the CMS Assistant on?

The CMS Assistant is switched on per company. Ask your Monotree contact, and it will appear in the CMS for your administrators, editors and managers.

  9. Do we pay extra for the CMS Assistant?

No. Monotree has one price per user, and it covers every feature including the CMS Assistant, along with AI, integrations, personal onboarding and live chat support. There are no modules or add-ons.
