About Gire

Gire is a vehicle logistics platform. Car dealers, leasing companies, workshops and fleet owners go online to book a driver, who moves a car from A to B. The company started in 2019, after seeing how much time and resources the car industry lost on internal logistics, and it was built on the idea that car logistics should be as easy as ordering a taxi.

Gire now operates in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands, with Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Amsterdam among its cities. More than 1,500 automotive businesses use it, Hertz, Møller Bil, Bilia and Ayvens among them, and it has completed more than 300,000 deliveries. In major cities it promises to pick up a car within four hours, and within 24 hours anywhere else in the country.

Gire is never better than the experience its drivers give the customer. Drivers take one job at a time and decide for themselves when and how much they work. The job is aimed at students, freelancers, pensioners, people with full-time jobs and anyone else who likes to drive and wants some extra income. No car of their own is needed, only a smartphone.

In short

  • More than 800 drivers across four countries are onboarded and trained in the app.

  • The app shortens the feedback loop between Gire and its drivers.

  • Drivers get a sense of community and a way to help improve how Gire works.

How Gire uses Monotree

Gire's drivers choose when and how much they work, and they are spread over several countries. Since 2024, Monotree has been how the company gets knowledge and understanding out to them, a community of more than 800 drivers.

Stian Bødtker Berentsen says it works at that scale because the app is easy to use and flexible. Gire onboards new drivers in it, trains them, follows up with them and gives them support material, without having to do it one person at a time.

Just as important is what comes back the other way. Drivers who set their own hours have somewhere to say what is not working, and Gire hears it. For a company that is only as good as the drive the customer gets, that is the part that counts.
