Dyreparken in Kristiansand is the largest family attraction in Norway. It is a zoo and an amusement park in one, covering about 66 hectares, with more than 100 animal species and themed areas such as Kaptein Sabeltanns Verden and Kardemomme by. The water park Badelandet is next door, and guests can stay at seven places on site, from the pirate-themed Abra Havn to a safari camp.
More than a million people visit every year, and 2025 set a record of over 1.1 million. The park is open every day of the year, and each summer it is also Norway's largest theatre stage. The park is there to give people memories for life, and it asks its own staff to be safe, hungry and honest.
Summer is when the workforce swells. More than 200 people work there full time across the companies, and around 1,300 seasonal staff join them. Dyreparken hires from the year you turn 16 and trains apprentices in restaurant and food, sales and service, and IT. It was certified for workplace equality in 2018 and received a regional diversity prize in 2022.

That is no small thing at a park that is open every day of the year and where, every summer, the seasonal staff outnumber the permanent ones several times over. Seasonal jobs are open from the year you turn 16, so the app has to work for a 16-year-old on a summer job as well as for the full-time staff.
