What syncs from Sona to Monotree

Sona and Monotree integration

Every 15 minutes, Monotree reads your active users from Sona, together with the lowest level of your Sona structure, usually sites or departments, and your types of work. Shifts come over once someone is working them, placed at the site where they happen and shown in local time. Open shifts nobody has taken are left out.

You keep making rota changes in Sona. In Monotree, each person is placed in the groups for their home site and for every site they are rostered at or can be assigned to, and types of work such as Chef or Bartender can become Professions. Everyone on a shift sees who else works at that site that day and can start a shift chat with them.

Questions about the Sona integration

  1. Do open shifts in Sona show in Monotree?

    Not until someone picks them up. Shifts that someone is working come over, from 14 days back to 30 ahead by default, up to 60 each way.

  2. Can we use types of work as groups?

    Yes. Each type of work, like Chef or Bartender, can become a Profession in Monotree. Target it together with a site to reach, say, the chefs at one site.

  3. Someone works at more than one site. Where do they show up?

    At every site they belong to: their home site, and the sites they are rostered at or can be assigned to. Each shift shows at its own site, with the people working there that day.

  4. What does Monotree take from a Sona user?

    Name, email and phone, plus the sites and types of work people belong to. Start dates, pay and contracts stay where they are. Users with neither a work nor a contact email are not added.

  5. What happens when a Sona user is made inactive?

    Only active users are read, so they drop out at the next sync. With an access grace period set in Monotree, they keep the app for that many hours first.

  6. Does the Sona integration cost extra?

    No. It is included in every Monotree plan.

  7. Can we add people who are not in Sona?

    Yes. Add people like head office staff in Monotree directly. The sync only changes the employees it brought in.
