Shifts come from the timesheet on any day a person has an entry there, and from the planned rota on the other days. Holiday, days off and other absence are skipped.

Rota King stays in charge of rotas and employment records. In Monotree, locations and job titles feed your groups, the employment start date times onboarding journeys, and people keep their login until their end date is over. A shift sits at the location where it is worked, so its shift chat is with the team there that day.

Questions about the Rota King integration

  1. Does Monotree show the rota or the timesheet?

    Both. Where a day is on the timesheet, that is what shows, including cover picked up during the week and corrected hours. Other days come from the rota, published or not. Holiday and other absence are left out.

  2. Can we use job titles as groups?

    Yes. Each person's main job title, like Chef or Bar Staff, can become a Profession in Monotree. Target it together with a location to reach one team at one site, like the bar staff at one pub.

  3. Staff work at more than one location. Does that work?

    Yes. They join the Department of their home location and of every location they are attached to. A shift at another location shows with the team working there that day.

  4. Does the preferred name come over?

    Yes. With nicknames on in Monotree, it replaces the first name unless the employee turns it off. Clear it in Rota King and Monotree drops it too.

  5. What does Monotree read from a Rota King employee record?

    Name, preferred name, email, phone, start and end date, home and attached locations, and main job title. Employees without an email address in Rota King are skipped, and pay rates and contract details are not read.

  6. Can a leaver still use the app on their end date?

    Yes, until the day is over in your time zone. Access then ends, or runs on for any grace period set in Monotree.

  7. Does the Rota King integration cost extra?

    No. It is included in every Monotree plan.

  8. Can we add people who are not in Rota King?

    Yes. Add people like head office staff in Monotree directly. The sync only changes the employees it brought in.
