What syncs from Shiftbase to Monotree

Shiftbase and Monotree integration

With this integration, the active employees in your Shiftbase account come over to Monotree every 15 minutes, along with their departments, their teams and each published shift they are assigned to. People are placed in the departments of the teams they belong to, so head office staff who can open every location are not added to all of them.

You keep scheduling in Shiftbase and publish shifts when they are ready. From the moment a shift is published, the person on it sees it in Monotree and can open a shift chat with everyone else working it. Teams with the same name count once across departments, the hire date opens each new starter's onboarding, and Dutch name prefixes stay in the last name.

Questions about the Shiftbase integration

  1. Do open shifts show in Monotree?

    No. A shift needs to be published and have an employee on it. Unpublished shifts stay out too, and one you delete in Shiftbase is taken off the calendar at the next sync.

  2. Which departments does someone join?

    The departments of the teams they are in. Access to other locations, which head office and admin accounts often have, does not count.

  3. Can we reach one team across all our locations?

    Yes. Teams with the same name become one Profession in Monotree, so a group linked to Kitchen reaches the kitchen team in every department.

  4. Are Dutch name prefixes kept?

    Yes. Van, de, van der and other prefixes stay part of the last name, just as Shiftbase shows the name.

  5. Does Monotree get timesheets from Shiftbase?

    No. It takes the name with its prefix, email, mobile or phone number, hire date, departments and teams. A user without an email stays out of Monotree. Timesheets, absence and payroll data remain in Shiftbase.

  6. What happens when an employee is made inactive?

    They are removed at the first sync after that, or later if you have set a grace period in Monotree.

  7. Does the Shiftbase integration cost extra?

    No. It is included in every Monotree plan.

  8. Can we add people who are not in Shiftbase?

    Yes. Add people like head office staff in Monotree directly. The sync only changes the employees it brought in.

It began as a scheduling tool for a restaurant in Haarlem, launched in 2011 as Horecasysteem, and took the name Shiftbase in 2018 as it grew beyond hospitality. It expanded to Germany in 2019.
