What syncs from HGC to Monotree

HGC and Monotree integration

Every 15 minutes, Monotree fetches employees, their cost centres and the planned roster from HGC. Each cost centre, often named after an area and a hotel, becomes a department. Only days planned as working days become shifts, while clocked hours are left out. Job roles and hire dates are not part of the sync, so groups are built from cost centres alone.

Payroll and rostering carry on in HGC as before. In Monotree, you gather cost centres into groups, for example one hotel as a Department group and every reception across hotels as a Custom group. Planned working days fill each person's calendar, and someone who drops off the employee list loses access at the next sync, or after the grace period if you use one.

Questions about the HGC integration

  1. Which shifts come over from HGC?

    Planned times for employees who are in Monotree. Clocked hours are not synced, and only days marked as working days become shifts.

  2. What happens to a split shift?

    A day planned in several blocks shows as one shift, from the start of the first block to the end of the last.

  3. Can we group people by job, like Reception or Kitchen?

    Yes, through cost centres. Monotree does not read job roles, so put every cost centre for one job in a Custom group, and members follow.

  4. Which employee fields does HGC pass on?

    First and last name, email, mobile number and cost centre. Employees without an email are skipped. The hire date does not come over, so onboarding journeys are not timed from it.

  5. What happens when someone is taken off the HGC employee export?

    Their Monotree access ends at the next sync. If you have set a grace period, it ends when that runs out instead.

  6. Does the HGC integration cost extra?

    No. It is included in every Monotree plan.

  7. Can we add people who are not in HGC?

    Yes. Add people like head office staff in Monotree directly. The sync only changes the employees it brought in.
