Familien Bühlmann, Danish for the Bühlmann family, is the name the group uses as an employer, and its hotels trade as Bühlmann Hotels, with a head office in Aalborg. The story goes back to 1960, when Anemette Bühlmann's grandparents, Hugo Jensen and his Swiss wife Aloisia Bühlmann, came to North Jutland to run Motel Aalborg at the old manor Scheelsminde. The group itself dates from 2007, when Anemette and Danni Bühlmann, still its owners, took over the manor hotel.
The hotels are a mix. There are boutique hotels in Copenhagen and Aarhus, among them the five-star Herman K, design hotels in Aalborg and Viborg, the manor Scheelsminde, and airport hotels at Aalborg and Billund. The Station, a combined hotel and office building, is due next to Odense station in 2027, and the group aims to cover the whole country by the end of 2026.
Care, flexibility, presence, passion and respect are the words the family keeps coming back to, and holding on to them is how a small family business grew into a modern hotel group without losing its feel. The hotels are different from one another; the shared language is what makes them one group. The logo, a heart with the Swiss flag in the middle, recalls where the family comes from.
